There has been a new threat trending in the cyber security landscape called the Pay Stub Scheme. The bad guys are impersonating your co-workers and requesting that you send them your pay stub. The information they get from the pay stub can back easily lead to identity threat or financial fraud. This threat is highly dangerous for people who work in the payroll industries since they will commonly get these types of emails from co-workers and will easily fall for this scheme. Be on the look out for any suspicious email requests and call the person on the phone to verify before sending the information. If you are suspicious of an email that you received, please delete it and report it to your company’s IT administrator.

As these new types of threats and techniques arise, it is becoming more and more important to implement user security training throughout your company. Contact us to learn more about user security training.
